Are your snacks made in Canada?
We are very proud of our Canadian freeze-dried foods, which are carefully grown and harvested at peak ripeness. They are then freeze-dried, and packaged in the region we call home, B.C.’s Okanagan Valley.
What kind of snacks do you make?
Big Air makes freeze-dried snacks in Canada from the best fruits and vegetables the Okanagan Valley and neighbouring regions offer. We carry a range of freeze-dried fruit, apples, and more, and have plans to release pet food. Every product we carry is made only with the produce itself and is all natural with no additives or preservatives.
How do you freeze-dry your food?
The short answer is that we take farm-fresh fruits and vegetables harvested at peak ripeness, freeze them, and then use a fancy drying method to remove moisture and preserve them with maximum nutrition and taste for 20+ years. Learn more about how we capture fresh.
Do I need to cook freeze-dried food?
Big Air foods are all-natural and plant-based, so cooking our products before eating is unnecessary. You can snack on our freeze-dried fruits and vegetables right out of the bag if you want!
How do I use freeze-dried food?
You can eat freeze-dried fruit right out of the bag! So can your pets, provided you give them a food they tolerate. Reconstituting the food with water is an option to regain texture, but not necessary. You can get creative with your freeze-dried products and mix them into baked goods, pancakes, stir-fries, or whatever you’re craving—check out our recipes here. Now we’re hungry…
